Good intentions

On Monday, Travis came down and we went to lunch. This was a pretty big ordeal for two reasons:
1) Because he had to drive me to work, then drive back home, then drive BACK to me for lunch, then drive back home;
2) Because there is road construction on the way to the office, meaning that commute is increased by TWO MINUTES. (Since it’s only a 10-minute - now 12 - commute, that’s a 20% increase.)

But I wanted him to come to lunch with me so we could go to the Bistro. It was very important to me that he see this Bistro before we leave here, because no words can do the Bistro justice. I even made him bring my camera so I could take pictures of the Bistro and post them here, but I haven’t taken the pictures off my camera yet, so I’m not doing anyone any good.

The point is, the Bistro is in a really odd location. A location that you wouldn’t expect to find a Bistro, or, well, anything for that matter. To get to the Bistro, one must first trek to the far reaches of the parking lot, down a steep, slippery, icy, unpaved hill of dirt, slush and snow, through a field, across another field that is lined with paving stones, so you know you’re getting somewhere, and then down a treacherous set of steps into a basement with only 8 tables.

The whole adventure is amusing beyond belief and rife with potential lawsuits, and I just HAD to share it with him. And I really intend to share it with you, too. So, pictures of the Bistro will come… eventually.
